Celebrating Staff Excellence at Runshaw College
Our staff community came together before the festive break to celebrate our annual Staff Excellence and Quality of Education Awards – a moment to recognise the hard work, dedication, and passion of everyone over the past 12 months.
These awards are not only a fantastic way to end the calendar year but also an important reflection of our core values and mission.
Presented by Principal and CEO, Clare Russell, the Staff Excellence awards celebrate staff members who exemplify our college’s core values: Dedication, Fulfilment, Excellence, and Respect. These individuals have made exceptional contributions, demonstrated through their willingness to embrace new challenges, outstanding skillsets, or their commitment to going above and beyond in delivering an outstanding, student-centred approach. Nominations were submitted by peers and colleagues in Autumn 2024.
Our Director of HR, Tracey Croft, reflected on the significance of the awards: “As we near the end of the year, it’s always a privilege to learn more about the remarkable work happening behind the scenes. While we often don’t see first-hand the incredible efforts that go into making Runshaw College a success, these awards serve to bridge that gap, allowing us to truly acknowledge and celebrate those contributions. From teachers who go above and beyond for their students to the dedicated staff working tirelessly behind the scenes, every effort is invaluable. Congratulations to this year’s winners – their achievements are more than deserving of this recognition.”

The winners of the Staff Excellence Awards were announced during our Staff Christmas Celebration on December 20th, 2024.
Matt Unsworth, a member of our Creative/Marketing Team, said of winning the Award for Dedication: “My journey at Runshaw started six years ago, and I haven’t looked back since! We have a fantastic team here, and it’s always a pleasure to be part of such a rich and vibrant community, full of ideas and inspiration. Our simple goal is to look after our students, helping them build the confidence and skills they need to succeed in the world. My role is exciting, working on a variety of diverse projects where no two days are the same. As my team continues to reinvent itself, we can always be confident that we’re showcasing to our partners and school leavers that Runshaw is the place to both study and work.”

The Quality of Education Awards celebrate teams that have been identified by students through our Quality of Education Survey as delivering outstanding teaching and learning, making a direct impact on their academic journeys.
