With over 12 years of experience in the Further Education sector, and a background in the pharmaceutical industry and secondary schools, Claire has brought a wealth of knowledge and valuable insights that have set the stage for exciting developments in our science department.

Jen Deakin, an Advanced Practitioner in the School of Visual Arts, began her journey at Runshaw College in 2021 as a Teacher of Graphic Design. Since then, her career has gone from strength to strength, recently earning a place as one of just six recipients of the prestigious Technical Teaching Fellowship.

Caitlin joined Runshaw in 2021, stepping into our Create Team straight out of university. Since then, she has made a significant impact in the world of marketing at our college, bringing creativity, innovation, and fresh ideas to every project she undertakes. Her work has consistently enhanced the experiences of staff, learners, and prospective students, making a lasting difference across the college.

Marika’s journey at Runshaw College began as an A Level 3D Design Lecturer and Course Leader, where her passion for teaching and design quickly shone through. With the evolving needs of the college, Marika transitioned into our School of Engineering, bringing her vast expertise to a new generation of students. As a T Level Ambassador, she is a strong advocate for the transformative power of education, ensuring it is both inspiring and connected to real-world skills that prepare students for successful careers.

Stuart Hide has been a valued member of our teaching community at Runshaw College since 2019. As the T Level Course Leader for Design, Surveying, and Planning within our School of Engineering, he brings a wealth of expertise, enthusiasm, and real-world insight to both the classroom and the industry.


“I’ve been on both sides of the experience at Runshaw – I was once a student here, and now I’m part of the team. My time as a student was the best time in my education, and I wanted to make sure current students have the same positive experience. It’s clear that every staff member at Runshaw shares this goal – to ensure every student feels supported and has an enriching learning experience”.

Rhiannon began her career journey at Runshaw in 2023 as an apprentice, working alongside a dedicated and growing team of IT specialists who keep the college’s IT services running smoothly while ensuring cybersecurity and safety. With over 5,000 students and 650 staff members relying on their support, no two days are ever the same.

The support I’ve received, including funding for my Level 3 in Teaching and Learning, has opened doors for me to take on new challenges. Sally joined Runshaw College in 2021, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her diverse career in health and social care and as a teaching assistant. Since then, Runshaw has been delighted to support Sally in her role, helping to fund additional courses that further enhance her skills and allow her to have an even greater impact on the students she works with.
