Aspiring Veterinary students gain experience in animal husbandry
Six Runshaw students aspiring to pursue careers in Veterinary Medicine recently visited an animal sanctuary to gain practical experience in animal husbandry.
During the visit, they participated in a variety of tasks designed to develop their understanding of daily animal care and welfare. Our students assisted with cleaning out the stables, reinforcing the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic living environments. They were also instructed on how to organise and accurately weigh out feed, ensuring that animals receive appropriate and balanced nutrition.

Overall, the visit provided valuable, hands-on insight into the responsibilities involved in caring for and managing a range of animals, contributing meaningfully to our students’ preparation for future careers in veterinary practice.
