Campus & Facilities

One of the most successful colleges in the UK, we are renowned nationally for our outstanding results, friendly and supportive culture and focus on learners’ needs.

We strongly believe that we have the finest facilities in the region. We have also worked very hard to make sure that our students have the facilities they deserve. In recent years, we have invested over £20m upgrading college resources, including Buttermere, which opened in early 2023, our Healthcare Hospital Hub which opened in August 2023, and in 2024 the college invested more money in brand new student barriers, a new welcome entrance, dining outlets, and student seating areas. Just take a look below at some of our state-of-the-art facilities.

Windermere is nearly here, Runshaw’s newest addition to the campus!

Work has started on this landmark project, the biggest in Runshaw’s history. Windermere will replace the main Dalehead building (below) as part of a £1.7m Central Government’s FE College Condition Grant Allocation. The grant will provide a significant contribution as we build a new state-of-the-art Science building. Not only will this new building provide outstanding teaching facilities, it will also play a crucial role in our journey to Net Zero.

The new Windermere Science building, for which planning permission was granted in March 2025, will be a two-storey building, providing 12 industry leading science laboratories, an IT suite and collaborative learning space.

Completion: Mid 2027 / Opening: September 2027

Update: 22.7.26. We’re now 20+ weeks into the Windermere project, and the old Dalehead building has now been fully demolished. A major milestone has been reached with the completion of the new steel framework. Click here to tour the building.
