We were lucky enough to catch up with former Runshaw student Kyle recently at Tech IP, where they have secured employment as a Service Desk Analyst.
Kyle felt that university wasn’t for him and wanted to jump headfirst into the world of work. Kyle added, “I learnt a lot at Runshaw, I studied twelve IT units and enjoyed them all!”.
After attending an event at the college, Chris Allmark – Chief Technology Officer of Tech IP – was approached by Runshaw’s Employer Relationships Manager to see how the college and Tech IP could work together. Through that interaction, Tech IP identified a role that they wanted to fill with a college leaver. Chris added, “Runshaw is local, so it makes sense. We want keen people who we can nurture. We have a small team so it’s about getting the right people. We want to foster an atmosphere of excellence and never want to let anyone down. We want people to stay here, we have a ‘no blame’ culture and we think it’s a great way of learning.” It’s clearly working because Chris employs two other former Runshaw students who have been with Tech IP for several years.

It’s clear that this was the perfect step for Kyle, and he is an ideal fit for the company. We asked Kyle what his plans are for the future, “In IT there’s a vast amount of things I can learn, and I want to progress here and be an IT professional.”
Well done Kyle, we wish you continued success at Tech IP! Tech IP offers a project managed approach to provide fixed and mobile telephone services and products, and a wide range of internet connectivity solutions, and is one of many of our partner employers at Runshaw. Find out more below.
