Harry and his first year at Runshaw College
Harry Hayden, Trainer of Professional Studies for Adult and Apprenticeship Provision, joined Runshaw College in 2025. After completing a PGCE in Education Studies, Harry now mentors apprentices and adult learners in Business, Customer Service, and Accounting.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into teaching?
“After completing a Degree in Business Management, I discovered a passion for teaching and returned to the University of Cumbria in 2024 to complete a PGCE. I wanted to combine my skills with teaching and found a role at Runshaw that matched my experience in Business, Customer Service, and Accounting”.
How has Runshaw supported your career growth and professional development?
“Runshaw offers excellent CPD opportunities tailored to staff interests. I completed my Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement and am now supported through my Level 4 in Internal Quality Assurance”.
What do you enjoy most about working at Runshaw College?
“I enjoy the freedom to teach in a way that suits both me and my learners. Our team shares best practices and values flexibility to help apprentices succeed“.
