Elevate your FE career! Targeted Retention Incentives 2025/26
Runshaw College is a qualifying institution for the Department for Education’s Targeted Retention Incentive Payments.
If you are an FE teacher within your first five years of teaching, and you either hold a teaching qualification or are currently working towards one, you may be entitled to a one-time retention payment for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Are you eligible?
Currently, FE teachers in specific subjects can claim a targeted retention payment. These subject areas include:
- Building & Construction
- Computing
- Early Years
- Engineering
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Physics
At Runshaw College, eligible staff can access funding of up to £5,000 based on their teaching hours as financial incentives.
Important: Applications are now OPEN! Be sure to claim by 31 May 2026. Note that eligibility criteria may change each academic year. Keep an eye out for updates for the 2026-2027 academic year.
