Students achieve Gold and Silver Awards in the Biology Olympiad
Five of our Year 2 A Level Biology students have taken part in this year’s UK Biology Competitions (UKBC) Biology Olympiad.
The British Biology Olympiad challenges and stimulates students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents. Our students were competing alongside 18,800 other students in the UK and internationally, in one of the most challenging biology competitions for college learners. The group delivered an impressive performance, with one student achieving a Gold and another achieving a Silver award. The Gold award places Aamir (pictured below) in the top 5% of all participants internationally, a remarkable achievement that reflects exceptional knowledge, problem-solving ability, and dedication to the subject.

Congratulations to all five students who participated in the competition. Their success is a testament to their determination and passion for biology.
Many students who enjoy and successfully complete A Level Biology at Runshaw typically progress on to a range of degree courses including Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry and Biological Sciences. To find out more and apply for September, click below.
