Order in the court as students spend the day at Sessions House
Our Law students recently had the privilege of spending a day at Preston Crown Court with His Honour Judge Jefferies KC.
This rare opportunity offered our students a first-hand insight into the realities of criminal justice and the work of the courts. During the visit, students were able to observe the famous Crown Court in full session. They watched a live criminal trial unfold, seeing how barristers question witnesses, how clerks support the smooth running of proceedings, how the jury considers the evidence, and how the judge oversees and directs the case. Experiencing a real trial in action brought their classroom learning to life in an unforgettable way.
Judge Jefferies kindly took time to speak with the students, answering their questions about his career, the role of judges in the justice system and the skills required to progress in the legal profession. His insight provided valuable guidance for those considering future pathways in law. Find out more about A Level Law at Runshaw by clicking below.
