A huge congratulations to ten of our remarkable Biologists who competed recently in the British Biology Olympiad competition.
The British Biology Olympiad (BBO) challenges and stimulates students with an interest in Biology to expand and extend their talents. Students are presented with topics and ideas which they are not familiar with, competing with their problem-solving skills and understanding of core principles.

Our students scooped an impressive 2 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze and 2 Commendation awards! The Gold award represents the top 5% of all participants, out of a total of 18,533 students. Additionally, one of our students has been selected to trial for the International Biology Olympiad team. Congratulations to our talented students an a remarkable achievement, we are all incredibly proud of you!
As part of our A Level Biology course, we provide an extensive programme of academic enrichment, with both Medical Society and Science Society available as part of the Science Academy. This aids a student’s university application, and a high number of our students have successfully gained places at Russell group universities. Students have had successful applications for Medicine, Veterinary and Dentistry courses, to name just a few post-college progressions for our students.
