Peer mentoring and Chemistry Olympiad success!
Our Year 2 A Level Chemists recently took part in the Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad where they completed an extremely challenging written paper.
This paper requires them to apply their understanding of Chemistry to real-world situations and concepts and challenges their problem solving skills to their limits. Our students did amazingly well achieving one gold award (top 8.5 % nationwide), three silver awards and one bronze award!

We are also proud to celebrate the success of twelve of our Year 2 A Level Chemistry students who have acted as peer mentors for Year 1 students throughout the academic year. Through this role, our students developed a wide range of skills, including structured problem‑solving, clear scientific communication, leadership and confidence, while deepening their own subject knowledge and ability to apply key chemical concepts. The impact on our Year 1 students has been outstanding: 50% of those mentored improved their grades, including 27% who progressed by two or more grades over the course of the year. A huge thank you to all involved for your commitment, enthusiasm and hard work throughout the year.
