The Applied Professional Engineering courses incorporate exciting opportunities for students to develop their understanding and learning of engineering, in preparation for progression into engineering apprenticeships or continuing to university. The programme allows for a one-year transition programme, studying on a L2 BTEC or L3 Extended Diploma in Mechanical Engineering for two years equivalent to 3 A Levels, which gives learners the opportunity to develop key underpinning skills and knowledge, in fundamental subject areas, such as; Engineering Design, Engineering Mathematics and Computer Aided Design, all taught by industry expert Lecturers.

Over a two year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Chemical, Biochemical and Microbiological Laboratory Techniques, Genetics, Physiology and Applied Chemistry. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment in the science industry. Applied Science covers all corners of science, dipping in to aspects of chemistry and biology, combining this with maths and industrial science.

This two year course aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification and equips students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress into further or higher education, or training and apprenticeships in the creative sector. It is a stimulating and demanding course designed for those who have an interest in the visual arts, giving students the opportunity to explore and develop their creativity.

Welcome to Level 3 Graphic Design at Runshaw College. Over a two year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of life stages, anatomy and physiology and safeguarding children and adults. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment in the Health and Social Care industry. Areas include anatomy, communication, nutrition, equality, psychology, sociology, public health and health education.

This is a full-time course for students who want to train as Actors and so most of your classes will focus on different styles of acting. Also, when you audition for drama school, you may be asked to perform a song or to take part in movement workshops and so it is important that you also have some basic training in Singing Skills and Dance.

The focus of the PPP Musical Theatre and Dance pathways is on allowing you to develop your skills in acting, dance and singing so that you are able to pass the auditions and continue your training at a prestigious institution. On the course, you will also have the opportunity to showcase your skills in a wide range of performances.

Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment in the Public Service industry. The course is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to enter a career within the uniformed Public Services.

Over a two year course you will have the opportunity to develop employability skills and knowledge in the areas of fitness programming, sports coaching and sports massage. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment in sport. If you enjoy sport, and are looking to enhance your future chances of employment or higher education in the sport sector, this is the course for you.

Sport and Exercise Science at Runshaw College is an exciting and diverse sport course that opens up a number of university courses in areas such as sport and exercise science, physiotherapy, coaching, teaching and other related areas.

Our two-year Tourism Management course is a combination of a Level 3 NCFE Travel and Tourism Programme, an Industry work placement and bespoke cabin crew training. The travel and tourism industry is diverse and fast paced and we deliver a course which is reflective of our industry. You will study the key sectors of tourism such as cruise, events, aviation, tourist attractions and hospitality. After two years on our course you will have the skills and knowledge to progress on to university or directly into employment.

The Level 3 Vocational Course in Social Sciences will give you an in-depth insight into three subjects: Applied Law, Applied Psychology and Criminology. This course has units that include: Health Psychology, Criminological Theories, Crime Scene to Court Room and Criminal Law. The course is put together to give students an in-depth understanding of the criminal justice system and how the mind develops. There are 6 exams in total for this course.
