A Level Photography
School Leavers (16-18)Picture this: a studio with the facility to take a photo and image manipulate it in our photography suites or dark room. Photography at Runshaw offers an in-depth knowledge of both traditional and digital processes. The course allows students to start at the very basics of photography incorporating analogue camera work, darkroom and f ilm processes and experimental historic processes; this is then complimented by the introduction of using digital equipment and software such as Photoshop and Lightroom.

School Leavers (16-18)Understand the physics of Earth, from energy to electricity, how does it all work? Physics is the study of the fundamental aspects of the universe from the infinitely big to the infinitely small. It is a popular choice to study here at Runshaw, and it is a very well respected qualification by university admissions tutors and employers. This is evidenced by our 82% percentage progression to university and degree apprenticeships.

School Leavers (16-18)It’s a political minefield out there. It’s your job to make sense of it all – you even get to join in debates and attend our very own Question Time, how’s that for a Party? Studying Politics at Runshaw College will help students to understand the nature and scope of the issues and questions in the modern world and to appreciate the wide range of possible solutions that are offered. This is a subject that both unites and divides people: it unites in that challenges we face such as health and education are all relevant to our lives, and divides as few seem to agree on how to deal with these challenges.

School Leavers (16-18)Are you intrigued by what causes our behaviour and what makes us who we are? This fascinating subject studies the complexities of human and animal behaviour and experience. Across the course, students cover areas such as cognition and memory, social behaviour such as obedience and prejudice, behavioural processes in terms of how we learn, physiological processes such as how the brain affects behaviour.

School Leavers (16-18)It’s a miracle – if studying religious beliefs and debating philosophical issues is for you, read our Bible of information below. A Level Religious Studies is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to explore a range of questions such as whether religion is a human construct, does God exist and what are miracles, do they still happen? Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this subject typically progress onto a wide range of degree courses. Debate key philosophical issues and get to the heart of why people hold religious beliefs.

School Leavers (16-18)Bienvenida a España. A Level Spanish is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to study a range of topics, including ‘los valores tradicionales y modernos, el ciberespacio, la igualdad de los sexos, la influencia de los ídolos, la identidad regional en España, el patrimonio cultural, la inmigración, el racismo y la convivencia, los jóvenes y la política, monarquías y dictaduras y los movimientos populares’. In addition to this, you will study a Spanish-speaking film and novel.
