From Graduate to Graphic Designer

Starting a career straight out of university can be daunting, especially in the aftermath of COVID-19 restrictions. But at Runshaw College, support and opportunity go hand in hand. Caitlin joined us as a Junior Graphic Designer and took everything in her stride, quickly making an impact across a range of projects – from developing our catering outlets to designing our prospectus.

We caught up with her to hear about her journey, how she navigated the transition from university into a fulfilling career, and what she thinks makes Runshaw such a great place to grow.

Can you tell us about your journey into your role at Runshaw?

I joined Runshaw College just over three years ago, fresh out of university, as a Junior Graphic Designer. It was a difficult time with echoes of Covid 19 restrictions and it was my first full-time role, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from day one, I felt supported and encouraged. Since then, I’ve grown so much in both skill and confidence, working on a wide range of projects and collaborating with different teams across the college. No two days are ever the same!

What kind of projects have you worked on?

I’ve had the opportunity to work on a variety of creative projects, from designing wall graphics and logos to producing the college prospectus. The variety in my role keeps things exciting – I’m always looking for ways to upskill and bring fresh ideas to the table.
