This week has been national T Levels Celebration Week, during which we have been celebrating our course and student highlights from our wide range of T Level courses.
Did you know every T Level includes an industry placement? This year, our Year 2 T Level students will get a taste of what a real career is like as they combine classroom learning with an industry placement. We now have a wide range of brilliant T Levels available and this week we’ll be looking closer at each course. Over the last 18 months we have invested heavily in our facilities so that our learning environments are sector-leading for our students and staff, to develop the skills needed for life after college, including our Engineering Centre and Hospital Ward. T Level activity this week
Our T Level Design Engineering students took part in an Employer Set Project Studio Day. Our tutors have given our students the opportunity to apply all of their research that they have been gathering over the last few weeks and worked really hard for the day, creating designs to modernise a Canal Lock System. Both groups have had the opportunity to visit the local canals and beautiful woodland we have around college.
Earlier this week our T Level Health students were tasked with creating PPE as part of managing the spread of infection, and later ran a blood pressure check clinic for staff to allow our students to practice for their practical exams in the spring.
Meanwhile, our T Level Business students went on a trip to Manchester, where they demonstrated their employability skills by making their own way into the city centre using public transport and investigated what impact seasonal events such as Christmas Markets have on small businesses. Later in the week they also took part in an orienteering challenge at Worden Park, demonstrating their communication, teamwork and team leadership skills.
Our T Level Design Engineering Year 1 students had the opportunity to visit the MTC in Liverpool on Wednesday. This is the second group MTC have shown around in recent weeks which included a tour of their facilities. Our students also had the opportunity to meet Spot & Pepper – their resident robots, and also present their ideas on Robotic designs for Natural Disasters. Thank you to Vic Thompson and the team for an extremely interesting day.
What an amazing week, our students have showcased their talent and dedication – a big thank you to our tutors and partners for making T Levels Week another success! Apply now for September 2025 and follow in the footsteps of our fantastic T Level students by clicking below.
