  • L3 Vocational Course in Social Science

    School Leavers (16-18)

    The Level 3 Vocational Course in Social Sciences will give you an in-depth insight into three subjects: Applied Law, Applied Psychology and Criminology. This course has units that include: Health Psychology, Criminological Theories, Crime Scene to Court Room and Criminal Law. The course is put together to give students an in-depth understanding of the criminal justice system and how the mind develops. There are 6 exams in total for this course.

A Level Sociology is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to discuss and debate a whole range of topical sociological issues. Students who enjoy and successfully complete this subject typically progress onto a range of degree courses at university including Journalism and Law. Sociologists are interested in finding out about a variety of socially constructed phenomena, including: family, education systems, different cultures, religious beliefs, crime and deviance.

  • A Level Spanish

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Bienvenida a España. A Level Spanish is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to study a range of topics, including ‘los valores tradicionales y modernos, el ciberespacio, la igualdad de los sexos, la influencia de los ídolos, la identidad regional en España, el patrimonio cultural, la inmigración, el racismo y la convivencia, los jóvenes y la política, monarquías y dictaduras y los movimientos populares’. In addition to this, you will study a Spanish-speaking film and novel. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this subject typically progress onto a range of degree courses including Languages and other disciplines such as Medicine, Law and Humanities. Everyday classroom conversation is in Spanish and our very experienced teachers coach, guide and encourage students to use Spanish confidently and spontaneously in real life situations.

Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto a wide range of Higher Education sport courses. As well as studying for the BTEC Extended Diploma qualification, students will also have the opportunity to work towards sports leadership and coaching awards.

  • T Level Business Management & Leadership

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Read our T Level Business Portfolio below and invest 2 years studying at Runshaw and working on placement. T Levels are a fresh and exciting alternative to A Levels as they offer a work focussed experience which combines academic study of the highest quality with practical industry related skills. In addition, T Levels include a mandatory placement of 315 hours minimum, typically completed across 45 days, that has been built into the course to further develop individual skills.

  • T Level Civil Engineering

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Our T Level Civil Engineering course offers students vocational skills including construction project management, maths, quantity surveying, structural design and can help students into skilled employment, higher study or apprenticeships. Each T Level includes an in-depth industry placement that lasts at least 45 days. Students get valuable experience in the workplace; employers get early sight of the new talent in their industry. T Level students spend 80% of the course in the classroom, learning the skills that employers need. The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where they put these skills into action.
