Geography A Level
School Leavers (16-18)Geography is an engaging, diverse and topical subject. Students will learn about both human and physical geography, applied to the most current and up to date geographical research. Skills are developed in academic research and writing, as well as applied maths and GIS. Students will have the opportunity to take part in local field trips to urban and coastal environments to apply their learning in the real world. An abroad trip is also offered to Iceland to experience glacier hiking, geothermal lagoons, geysers, waterfalls, geothermal energy and lava tube caving. Students are given the opportunity to sample life as a Geography undergraduate in a trip to Lancaster University, as well as numerous university lectures offered throughout the two-year course as well as guest speakers focusing on careers in Geography.

Geology A Level

Health & Social Care BTEC Level 2
School Leavers (16-18)Health & Social Care Certificate Level 2 at Runshaw College is for anyone who is looking for a career in the caring industry, e.g. working in care home, youth centres etc, but also for those who want to progress on to Level 3 Professional Studies in Health & Social Care & T Level in Health. However, students have gone on to employment in other professions, e.g. retail, catering and animal care, to name a few.

School Leavers (16-18)Study the despotic reign of the Tudors and Louis XIV of France. A Level Early Modern History is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to study a range of topics between 1485 – 1715AD such as Monarchy, Conflict and Religion in Tudor England, and France in the 17th Century. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this subject typically progress onto a range of degree courses including: Law, English and History.

Level 2 & Level 3 BTEC Applied Professionals in Engineering
School Leavers (16-18)The Applied Professional Engineering courses incorporate exciting opportunities for students to develop their understanding and learning of engineering, in preparation for progression into engineering apprenticeships or continuing to university. The programme allows for a one-year transition programme, studying on a L2 BTEC or L3 Extended Diploma in Mechanical Engineering for two years equivalent to 3 A Levels, which gives learners the opportunity to develop key underpinning skills and knowledge, in fundamental subject areas, such as; Engineering Design, Engineering Mathematics and Computer Aided Design, all taught by industry expert Lecturers.
