A Level Politics
It's a political minefield out there. It's your job to make sense of it all - you even get to join in debates and attend our very own Question Time, how's that for a Party? Studying Politics at Runshaw College will help students to understand the nature and scope of the issues and questions in the modern world and to appreciate the wide range of possible solutions that are offered. This is a subject that both unites and divides people: it unites in that challenges we face such as health and education are all relevant to our lives, and divides as few seem to agree on how to deal with these challenges.

- Overview
Our students are encouraged to examine their own thoughts and views, in an open way in our non-threatening environment. As can be expected, Government and Politics is never static or shy of controversy! To complement studies, we offer a number of enrichment opportunities at Runshaw. On a weekly basis we have our debating society – the “Think Tank”, and this is the most frequent enrichment event. In terms of trips and activities away from college, there are many, whether it is staging or organising mock events in local high schools or branching out to further afield to visit London and the Houses of Parliament.
Course Highlights:
Political diary, visiting MPs and mock elections.
