The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design is an intensive one-year course which students complete after their A level or L3 Vocational studies and before progressing onto a degree. Foundation is effectively a 3rd year at 6th form. It is primarily designed to bridge the gap between Sixth Form and University studies, supporting progression to a subject specialist art and design programme at Art College, or to an Honours Degree at University.

Future Skills is a taster qualification and an exciting opportunity to study at Runshaw College whilst focussing on the development of student’s personal qualities, learning and employability skills.

Are you interested in studying an introduction to Events, Tourism and Customer Service, whilst improving your GCSE grades in maths or English? If the answer to this question is yes, then we have the course for you. This programme will give you all the basic skills you need to progress onto Level 2 Tourism or into the world of work.

If you are interested in developing skills in working and caring with children and adults, then this course is for you. This could lead you into employment within the sector of Early Years and Healthcare. This course equips you with key skills that will help you gain employment and will contribute to your final assessment. This is a great way to dip your toes in and decide which sector is for you.

Do you like a challenge and the opportunity to build your self-esteem and confidence? Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of teamwork, communication and leadership. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L2 Public Services course.

Art & Design UAL Level 2 aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification to enter employment in art and design or to progress onto Level 3 courses in Art and Design or Graphic Design. It will also help students to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for success in their future career.

Learn about the important elements of enterprise in the world of business. Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Enterprise in the Business World, Finance, Marketing and Team Building in Business. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the Level 3 Business course.

Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Moving Image (editing, lighting and camera), Digital Print, Photography and Audio Editing.  Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L3 Creative Media Production (Film and TV). A practical, work-based approach to learning, based on the television and film industry.

Health & Social Care Certificate Level 2 at Runshaw College is for anyone who is looking for a career in the caring industry, e.g. working in care home, youth centres etc, but also for those who want to progress on to Level 3 Professional Studies in Health & Social Care & T Level in Health. However, students have gone on to employment in other professions, e.g. retail, catering and animal care, to name a few.

Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge that will develop your skills in dance, acting and musical theatre. Many students who enjoy and complete this course successfully audition and progress onto the L3 Professional Performance Programme. This is a challenging course for motivated and committed students who want to pursue a career in the performing arts.

Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of teamwork, communication, citizenship and criminology. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the Level 3 Public Services course.

This is an exciting Level 2 course for Sport where students will be able to access a range of subjects linked to sports science, leadership, and coaching. As part of this one year course students could have the chance to work with local schools delivering sports activity sessions as well as accessing a week long work experience placement for the most gifted and talented.

This is the course for students looking at potentially working with children straight from completing the course in roles such as teaching assistant or nursery practitioner, or for students who want to progress on to the Level 3 T Level course in Education and Early Years.

Do you enjoy eating out? Going on holiday? Visiting attractions? Travelling? Going to music festivals and events? If the answer is YES, then this is the course for you. The one year course provides an excellent insight into Tourism today and the varied elements. Units of study will be e.g. UK coastal tourism/know about airports and airlines/Customer service in travel/The UK travel and tourism industry. Practical and theoretical learning is also included.

Welcome to the Advanced Musicianship Programme at Runshaw College. This course is an opportunity for serious and gifted musicians to develop their skills in performance, production, composition, song writing and music theory. (Free instrumental tuition available).
