The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design is an intensive one-year course which students complete after their A level or L3 Vocational studies and before progressing onto a degree. Foundation is effectively a 3rd year at 6th form. It is primarily designed to bridge the gap between Sixth Form and University studies, supporting progression to a subject specialist art and design programme at Art College, or to an Honours Degree at University.

Future Skills is a taster qualification and an exciting opportunity to study at Runshaw College whilst focussing on the development of student’s personal qualities, learning and employability skills.

The programme develops essential digital skills for modern industries. You will learn in specialist environments, supported by experienced staff and outstanding employer links in areas where digital capability is in high demand.

Are you interested in studying an introduction to Events, Tourism and Customer Service, whilst improving your GCSE grades in maths or English? If the answer to this question is yes, then we have the course for you. This programme will give you all the basic skills you need to progress onto Level 2 Tourism or into the world of work.

This qualification has been designed for learners who wish to achieve a Level 1 qualification in preparation for future study and will maximise opportunities for learners to progress by focusing on the development of transferable and sector-related skills. This level 1 qualification is for students who have an interest or would like to explore working in the fields of either childcare or health and social care.

Do you like a challenge and the opportunity to build your self-esteem and confidence? Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of teamwork, communication and leadership. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the Level 2 Public Services course.

Art & Design UAL Level 2 aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification to enter employment in art and design or to progress onto Level 3 courses in Art and Design or Graphic Design. It will also help students to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for success in their future career.

For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.

Learn about the important elements of enterprise in the world of business. Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Enterprise in the Business World, Finance, Marketing and Team Building in Business. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the Level 3 Business course.

For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.

Our Creative Media programme provides a practical, industry-focused route into the world of film, television and digital production. Working with specialist equipment and modern editing and production technologies, students develop strong creative, technical and communication skills. This pathway is ideal for those who enjoy visual storytelling, digital content creation and media production in a professional environment.

Health & Social Care Certificate Level 2 at Runshaw College is for anyone who is looking for a career in the caring industry, e.g. working in care home, youth centres etc, but also for those who want to progress on to Level 3 Professional Studies in Health & Social Care & T Level in Health.

For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.

Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge that will develop your skills in dance, acting and musical theatre. Many students who enjoy and complete this course successfully audition and progress onto the L3 Professional Performance Programme. This is a challenging course for motivated and committed students who want to pursue a career in the performing arts.

Students will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of teamwork, communication, citizenship and criminology. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the Level 3 Public Services course.

For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.

This is an exciting Level 2 course for Sport where students will be able to access a range of subjects linked to sports science, leadership, and coaching. As part of this one year course students could have the chance to work with local schools delivering sports activity sessions as well as accessing a week long work experience placement for the most gifted and talented.

For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.

This is the course for students looking at potentially working with children straight from completing the course in roles such as teaching assistant or nursery practitioner, or for students who want to progress on to the Level 3 T Level course in Education and Early Years.
