Yesterday our Enrichment and Wellbeing teams hosted Brew Monday, with the help of a few special guests!
The third Monday in January – Blue Monday – is deemed by some as the gloomiest day of the year, so our Wellbeing team hosted the ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ to highlight Mental Health – and of course, it’s always good to chat over a brew and hot chocolate with cake!
The Enrichment team also welcomed local rescue charity Homeless Hounds. The Lancashire based rescue team works tirelessly to foster, care for and re-home dogs who have had a difficult life. Thank you to Glen and Barbara who brought in ex-homeless hounds Sandy, Elsa and Milo, who have been re-homed through the charity after challenging starts to life. Our students enjoyed meeting the dogs, finding out about their stories and giving out plenty of love and treats!
Thank you to all of our student volunteers who helped our Brew Monday to run smoothly. Nearly £20 was raised for our college charity MIND and over £25 for Homeless Hounds.
