A Level Accounting students gain valuable industry insights at RSM
Our A Level Accounting students recently attended an exciting Insight Day hosted by RSM, one of the UK’s leading audit, tax and consulting firms, at their Preston office.
The event provided students with a fantastic opportunity to learn more about careers within professional services and the pathways available after college. Throughout the day, students heard from senior leaders, current apprentices, and members of RSM’s Early Careers team, who shared their experiences and advice on building a successful career in the industry.
Students took part in a range of engaging sessions, learning about work experience opportunities, school leaver programmes and graduate routes. They also developed valuable employability skills through assessment centre activities, application and interview advice, and insights into what employers look for when recruiting future talent. One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to hear directly from current RSM employees, including Runshaw alumni, about their career journeys. Students were able to ask questions, gain practical advice and develop a greater understanding of life within a leading professional services firm.

The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on how inspiring and informative they found the experience. The event has already encouraged a number of students to explore future opportunities with RSM and the wider accountancy profession.
A huge thank you goes to Michael Thornton, Stefan Sanan, Harriet Whittaker and the wider RSM team for delivering such an engaging and informative event.
