Eight of our Year 1 Further Maths students have recently completed the “Introduction to LaTeX” lunchtime enrichment course.
LaTeX is widely used in Academia for the communication and publication of scientific documents. In the sessions, the students (pictured below – Kris Sens, Myles Hayhurst, Hassan Baig, Marc Thompson, Matthew Dobb, Lucas Orritt, Jasmine De Goede, Dan Bithell) enjoyed finding out about the commands and packages required for the correct presentation of mathematical notation. As a group they used their learning to write their own practice exam paper, complete with mark scheme, finally giving a short presentation of their experiences to two of the maths course leaders. Well done everyone.
