Over 50 of our Police Horizons students have had a visit from Armed Response Vehicle (ARV).
Guests included Police Sergeant, Mike and Police Officer, Jack. The students learned the role of ARV, the equipment carried in the vehicles, as well as the firearms carried by officers such as pistols, carbine rifles and the 40mm rubber bullet launcher. They also learned about specialisms within ARV such as Operational Firearms Command, Specialist Firearms Officers, Close Protection Officers and Personal Protection Officers.
The officers discussed some roles that they have taken part in, including being a sniper covering the Common Wealth games, and working at Eurovision next month. A very interesting and informative session, we would like to thank Mike and Jack for visiting us.
