After winning the Warpaint competitions in November, we gave our students the opportunity to enter the Warpaint extra virtual make-up competition.
This was our first virtual competition and our Hair & Media Make-up department were excited to try this out and give our students a new experience.
The categories were Old Hollywood Glamour make-up and 1920s Bridal make-up. The competition was live via teams with colleges across the country joining in.
1st Place – 1920s Bridal, Heidi Mallinson MUA Level 3 |
2nd Place – Old Hollywood make-up, Rawan Alqahtani MUA Level 3 |
3rd Place – Old Hollywood make-up, Keira Sutch MUA Level 3 |
The Judges were industry professionals including TV celebrity James Mac from the programme ‘ Glow Up ‘. They were live throughout and spoke to the students scrutinising their performances and asking questions. All of our students were a credit to their profession and to the college, dedicating all their extra time to the competition.
Our students have been on a roll for the past year, winning most of the competitions we have entered. They have a busy schedule this year with competitions in February, March, and May. This gives us the perfect opportunity to challenge our students and give them a professional career-based start to their professions, linking into employability and broadening pathways to further education.
Massive thanks to Lauren Hall for the photos, Katie Reynolds for the fantastic hair and Sharon Heald for coordinating on social media.
