This project took place on Tuesday 13th November and was called ‘Scrap Heap Challenge’ where the students design and build rocket-powered cars.
The object is to see which car can travel the furthest distance in a straight line as possible. Students work in teams in order to plan, develop, build and test using a range of manufacturing techniques. This year three teams of four students took part in the event.
This forms part of the module ‘Design and Manufacturing Engineering’ that our current 2nd year Foundation Degree Computer Aided Engineering students are undertaking. This course is based at the Adult College campus and is in partnership with UCLan.
