This year, 11 A Level Physics students pitted themselves against the extremely challenging British Physics Olympiad.
As the students themselves will testify, the style of questions on the Olympiad are heavily focused on deducing, deriving and explaining your way to an answer, rather than obtaining the actual answer itself. In this way, the level of questions are set at undergraduate degree level and these determined students gave up their own time to prepare for it.
The results: one gold, one silver, three bronze I, four bronze II and two commendations, which are fantastic results! All those who took part should be proud of the results they achieved as they really did tackle questions beyond the expectation of the A Level curriculum. Well done everyone!
