Our Year 2 PPP Actors have taken part in the annual High Schools Tour to perform ‘Macbeth Rebooted’.
They visited 15 schools over the course of five days – from Broughton to Bolton and Burscough to Blackburn – performing in classrooms, sports halls and drama studios to audiences of 7 to 170. Some schools use this performance as a part of the Drama GCSE live theatre review, whilst others use it to enhance the study of the text in English lessons.
Their performance is the re-working of the classic Shakespeare tale, involving original and contemporary language, modern music and physical theatre. Our PPP students delivered 15 consistently high quality and high energy performances and adapted to suit each space and audience they were presented with, gaining them valuable experience in touring a production. They also talked to students passionately about the course and life at Runshaw College, hopefully convincing many to choose the same path in the coming years.
The Professional Performance Programme at Runshaw has three different pathways: Acting, Musical Theatre, and Dance. All three pathways have the same intensive and high quality approach to training, and each one has been carefully designed to prepare students for the relevant career.
