Last night we celebrated in style at our annual Supported Internship Programme Graduation Event.

This special occasion celebrates the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our 7 incredible interns in this partnership with Progress Housing Group and Runshaw College.

Supported Interns Graduation 2024
A cheque for £200 was given to the charity Key, from Runshaw’s Interns raising money this year. Our Interns have been amazing ambassadors for both Runshaw College and Progress Housing Group, and we would like to wish them every success for their next steps.

Our interns also picked up their bronze DofE certificates. A big thank you to the Mayor and Mayoress of South Ribble Borough Council for attending to present awards. Your support and encouragement mean the world to our interns and team.

To our interns, we are immensely proud of each and every one of you. Your perseverance, growth, confidence and resilience throughout this journey have been nothing short of extraordinary. You are the future, and we are excited to see the amazing things you will continue to achieve. To our partnership, rotation mentors and staff, thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. Your guidance and passion have made this program a resounding success.

You can hear from our interns below on their progress with Progress Housing Group in a short video – organised by Will Sutton and produced by Runshaw’s Marketing Team – which was shortlisted for National Supported Internship Day 2024 by The DFN Project SEARCH. It was great to see staff at all levels of the organisation, including the CEO Jacqueline De-Rose and Runshaw’s Will Sutton – Champion of Supported Internships – while elevating the voices of our interns!

The DFN Project SEARCH Supported Internship Programme is designed for young people aged 16-24 with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The goal of this programme is to support the transition from education to a position of paid employment (16+ hours per week) and lasts for one academic year.

The Supported Internship Programme has several partners, all working cohesively to provide the best support available to young people transitioning into the workplace. The partnership includes Progress Housing, Runshaw College, Lancashire County Council and DFN Project Search.

DFN Project SEARCH currently has over 70 sites across the UK and Europe and has supported in excess of 1300 young people into paid employment.
