Our English department hosted its annual English Challenge, inviting talented high school students from our partner high schools.
They competed against one another in unpicking puzzles, sorting out anagrams, and creating connections across different pieces of literature. We were also very impressed with their performance in our Spelling Bee with each school nominating a Queen or King Bee to bring home the points towards the coveted English Challenge trophy.
The day finished with our famous Runshaw cookies and a quiz exploring English in the news. Our proud winners who took home the trophies were Lostock Hall Academy and Sharples School with outstanding scores and impressive contributions throughout the competition. It was a brilliant afternoon of competition hosted expertly by our team of friendly and enthusiastic student ambassadors who made it one to remember.
