  • Early Years Educator - Level 3 Apprenticeship (WBL)

    The Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship is a natural progression from level 2 Early Years Practitioner. As an Early Years Educator you will remain employed in an early year’s setting such as a nursery but you will build upon your knowledge and have more responsibilities in your role by having a group of key children. Through the course you will build on the knowledge gained in level 2 and will gain a deeper understanding of child development by looking at different theories and how to put these into practice. In order to complete this course, you will need to complete paediatric first aid training. Candidates needs to be caring, honest, reliable, patient, friendly, use own initiative, have good communication skills, be practical and a problem solver.

In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with children aged birth to eight years, families, practitioners, other professionals, and appropriate agencies. An employee in this occupation will be responsible for supporting the quality of learning and development in their setting.

    Are you fascinated by language? Do you want to know how it works, its many varieties, how it changes and what influences it? Then A Level English Language is the course for you. A Level English Language is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to develop your skills of linguistic analysis and explore language usage in a wide variety of situations and contexts. It offers a very different experience from GCSE English, as engaging with the real language of our daily lives – including its grammar – underpins all areas of the course. Students can expect a wide range of learning activities, with discussion and presentation central to the A Level experience. The course is assessed by two exams at the end of the second year, plus a non-examined assessment (coursework).

Our approach is similar to English Literature – we focus on developing a critical understanding of film from a number of different perspectives: genre, narrative, film language and institution.

  • Fine Art A Level

    Work with a range of mixed media, predominantly exploring painting, drawing, textural and image-based collage, and print making. A Level Fine Art is a traditional and long standing A Level that underpins all art specialisms. Students will be taught core skills such as drawing, critical art history analysis and idea development that will give them the foundation to progress into many different areas within the creative sector. Many students combine academic ‘facilitating’ subjects with A Level Fine Art if they have a strong creative ability. This gives students the opportunity to stand out from the crowd, to demonstrate their creative and practical ability and problem solving skills. It also has different deadlines and structure to exam driven A Levels which can often balance well in the academic year.

  • Foundation Diploma in Art & Design

    School Leavers (16-18)

    The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design is an intensive one-year course which students complete after their A level or L3 Vocational studies and before progressing onto a degree. Foundation is effectively a 3rd year at 6th form. It is primarily designed to bridge the gap between Sixth Form and University studies, supporting progression to a subject specialist art and design programme at Art College, or to an Honours Degree at University.
