T Level Health

A healthy option for those who wish to pursue a career in Health and Social Care. The course is aimed at preparing young people for work, higher level apprenticeship or higher education in the field of Health Care. At Runshaw College we are aware of the skills gap in health care and believe the T Level Health will support students in gaining the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a career in health. The qualification is the equivalent of 3 A Levels.

  • Overview

    Year 1 of the T Level provides students with an in depth overview of the sector where you will cover the core component which includes:

    • Working in the healthcare sector
    • Managing personal information
    • Health, safety and safeguarding
    • Person-centred care
    • Health and Wellbeing
    • Infection prevention and control
    • Science

     

    In Year 2 you will focus on the occupational specialism: supporting the adult nursing team which includes:

    • Assisting the adult nursing team with clinical tasks
    • Supporting individuals to meet activities of daily living
    • Skin integrity assessments and with the care and treatment of skin conditions

    Course Highlights:

    Visiting speakers, outstanding health facilities and industry placements

  • Entry Requirements

    You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 including Maths, English and Science.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Year 1 is assessed by 2 external exams (CORE A & CORE B) and an employer led project (ESP) completed under supervised conditions.

    Year 2 is assessed by Controlled Assessments and Practical Skills Tests. Students who complete their T Level will receive an overall grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction.

  • Progression Pathway

    After successfully completing this course you will be able to progress onto a degree in courses such as nursing, mental health nursing, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and dietetics. Alternatively, you may choose to progress to a higher level Apprenticeship or find employment within the NHS or social care settings.
