Our very talented media and make-up students had to think outside the box for their end-of-term project in December. Everyone was feeling very festive in creating their own individual make-up creations. They travelled over to Birkacre Garden Centre in Chorley, where they used the festive backdrops to get some fantastic photos of their make-up looks. The students work on four specific projects over the year, with the most exciting one being their Christmas photo shoot, this year the class had to produce a look or character incorporating hair, make-up and body paint.

We all love this time of year. Everyone is relaxed and it’s a great way to wind down and enjoy the festive break at the end of the week. The students are assessed on their creations and are graded as part of their coursework. The hair and media make-up course is a fantastic way for students to express their creativity and be unique in their designs and make-up styles, all their work is presented in a portfolio and they will receive professional photos to enhance their work which will go towards further education, universities and employment. Each year I am blown away with their creativity, there are just no limits to the talented students we have at college. We have produced some amazing talented make-up artists this year.
Massive thank you to Birkacre Garden Centre who allowed us to use their fantastic winter wonderland as backdrops for photographs.
