Congratulations to our Biology Olympiads who sat a one hour exam to compete against 722 colleges internationally.
A total of 15,000 students took part in the competition, 28 of which were our Year 1 Biology students. Our students’ results are fantastic: 8 Participation, 5 Commended, 4 Highly Commended, 5 Bronze, 2 Silver, and 4 Gold – the top 5% of all the students taking part!
In other news, our Biology students recently took part in the Royal Society of Biology’s School’s Quiz at Myerscough College. The quiz involved aspects of Biology that were new to the students and at a degree level. They travelled around the labs at Myerscough, completing questions on identifying plants, sea life and even investigated the habituation of snails. Well done to Iris, David, Faye and Mujtaba who achieved 55.8% (below).
