Alice Broadway, a best selling author from our local area, dropped by for a fascinating talk to students and staff.
Alice Broadway was first published in 2017 with her debut novel ‘Ink’ which went on to be nominated for many awards including the prestigious ‘Waterstones Children’s Book of the Year’. ‘Ink’ successfully became a trilogy with further books in the series ‘Spark’ and ‘Scar’.
Students were treated to a fascinating talk about the themes of the books as well as the development process that Alice undertakes when writing and researching her books. She also talked openly about her experiences that led to her ideas and inspiration for the stories.
A Q&A followed the discussion, with excellent questions from our students and excellent answers from our guest. For any budding writer or fans of reading, this was truly a wonderful and valuable experience. A massive thank you to our author Alice Broadway for visiting us in the LRC.
