Teacher of Engineering named Educate “Teacher of the Year”
Teacher of Engineering Stuart Hide has been recognised with Educate’s “Teacher of the Year” award, bringing former military experience into the classroom to deliver high quality education through relentless commitment and consistency.
In November 2025, Stuart Hide attended the Educate Awards, where he was honoured as Teacher of the Year. The award recognised his dedication and innovative approach to delivering one of the most technically demanding post-16 qualifications.
A Course Leader and Teacher of Civil Engineering, Stuart’s work continues to shape the ambitions and confidence of students across the college.

With a background rooted in commitment and dedication, Stuart brings real-world insight into the classroom. Before moving into education, Stuart spent several years working in the military, developing skills that now help students through their learning and development. This practical experience has become a defining feature of Stuart’s teaching, giving his lessons relevance, depth and purpose.
