Congratulations to Ethan for winning the 2025 CIM&A Sixth Form Pitching Competition, beating over 200 students nationally!
Ethan is currently in his first year at Runshaw, studying A Levels in Economics, Accounting and Maths – and is also a proud member of ‘Runshaw Scholars’ – through which this opportunity presented itself to Ethan. CIM&A (Cambridge Investment and Mergers & Acquisitions Society) described his pitch as “highly polished”, praising his ability to turn complex data into clear insights and skills that will be invaluable for his future career.

The competition was highly competitive, with over 200 students from more than 35 schools taking part. From this national field, Ethan was selected for the final and went on to secure first place. The feedback Ethan received from CIM&A was extremely positive. They described his presentation as highly polished and well-structured, and highlighted in particular his ability to communicate complex information in a clear and engaging way. They commented that his visual analysis and graphs were some of the strongest in the competition, helping turn technical data into real insight, a skill they said is highly valued in investing, consulting and advisory work.

They also praised his Q&A performance, noting his strong contextualisation of supply chains, industrial policy and global competition, and the level of maturity and global awareness this demonstrated. They felt this would serve him very well in future applications and interviews. It was wonderful to see Runshaw College so well represented with another finalist from Runshaw in the mix. Congratulations Ethan!
