Runshaw CollegeRegional winners!Congratulations! |
The students have been working extremely hard since October preparing their opening speeches, closing speeches, learning their witness roles and order of procedure in court. Their dedication to the competition has paid off and I would like to say congratulations to the Law School’s Bar Mock Team, who won their virtual heats to be crowned the Regional Champions on Friday the 11th March. Well done to Zamry Rizwan, Lucy Berry, Gloria Aghedo, Monty Lord, Oliver Reid, Mia Ascroft, Leon Tomlinson, Lillie Eaves Holmes, Thomas Seville, and Megan Thomson.
The Bar Mock Trial Competition provides an insight into the justice system and allows for students aged 15-18 from all over the UK to build their confidence and increase their understanding and interest in the law. Students take on the roles of barristers, witnesses, clerks, ushers and jury members. Students normally appear in real crown courts, but due to COVID this year the competition was online (virtual format) in front of real judges. This year was different, but still very competitive and a great learning experience for all the students. Wish you all the best in your studies and hope to see you all again in Law Academy events and activities for the remaining year.
