Principal and CEO Clare Russell attended the Armed Forces Covenant signing at the University of Lancashire, reaffirming Runshaw’s commitment to the Armed Forces community.
We are proud to share that Runshaw College, alongside other local colleges, has recently recommitted to supporting the Armed Forces Covenant. This reflects our ongoing dedication to ensuring that those who serve, or have served, in the armed forces and their families are treated with fairness and respect.

What does this mean for our community?
For employees: We continue to recognise and support staff who are reservists, veterans, or members of armed forces families, offering flexibility and understanding where needed.
For students and families: We strive to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for leaners from armed forces backgrounds, ensuring they have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
For the wider community: Our commitment reinforces the values of equality and respect, helping to strengthen the bond between education and those who serve our country.
In signing the armed forces commitment, our Principal and CEO, Clare Russell emphasised: “Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is a clear demonstration of our commitment, which is borne out in our actions. We value the skills, experience and perspective that members of the armed forces community bring, and we are committed to ensuring they are supported, respected and able to succeed as part of our college community.”
By recommitting to the Covenant, we are reaffirming that the sacrifices made by the armed forces will never go unnoticed. Thank you to everyone who helps us uphold these principles every day.
