Problem solved in the UK Maths Challenge!
Over 160 students recently took part in the UK Senior Maths challenge 2024.
The students gaining a gold award were then entered into the next round, the kangaroo challenge. 157 students received an award which was fantastic – well done everyone!
Vanessa Harwood, Assistant Principal for our A Level programme, awarded the certificates for the gold award winners.
Some of our female mathematicians also took part in the Maths Olympiad for Girls (MOG). The challenge lasted two and a half hours and required the students to answer five questions showing detailed mathematical reasoning and rigorous proof. All our students performed well in this notoriously difficult challenge with many being awarded certificates of merit and distinction. Well done to all the girls!
