This week in Police Horizons, the students attended a workshop which focused on Special Constable Recruitment which is now open for Lancashire Constabulary.
The students were informed about both the initial and ongoing mandatory training involved with the voluntary role. The students learnt about the expectations and some of the situations faced by Special Constables. As well as the entry requirements and support provided for underrepresented groups. Students discussed the dedication and opportunity to build on existing personal skills whilst developing additional professional skills, prior to applying to become a regular police officer.
Applications are now open and will close on Tuesday 12th March 2024. Additional workshops will be held in D202 at 11:20 on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th March for anyone needing support with the application or anyone wanting more information.
