Congratulations to Team 1 from Bishop Rawstorne, who solved the ultimate maths puzzle in the 2025 Maths Challenge!
Last night, 19 teams from partner high schools across the North West competed for the ultimate ‘Runshaw Maths Challenge Champions 2025’ title. After multiple rounds of challenging problems and solving questions, the title went to Team 1 from Bishop Rawstorne, with Team 1 from Penwortham Priory in second place and Team 1 from Parklands in Chorley in third place.

It was lovely to see so many budding mathematicians – well done to everyone who came and took part. This well-established and popular competition for the mathematically gifted provides an opportunity for teams to compete for the prestigious Runshaw Maths Challenge Cup. There is a special cup for the winners, but most of us would never get past task one, so deservedly, all teams receive a medal in recognition of their prowess in this key subject.
A Level Mathematics is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to study Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics.
