Runshaw College Leadership Update

A Message from Alison Watson-Bird, Chair of the Corporation Board

I am writing to let students, parents, carers and the wider College community know that Clare Russell will step down as Principal and CEO of Runshaw College on 31 July 2027.

Clare has given a full year’s notice to allow the Corporation Board sufficient time to undertake a thorough recruitment process and ensure a smooth transition to the College’s next Principal and CEO.

Since joining Runshaw in 2009, and serving as Principal and CEO since 2020, Clare has played a significant role in the College’s success and development. Under her leadership, Runshaw has continued to strengthen its reputation for excellence, deliver outstanding outcomes for students and invest in its future. I would like to thank Clare for her commitment, leadership and contribution to Runshaw over the past eighteen years. We are grateful for everything she has done for the College and the wider community.

There is no immediate change to the leadership or day-to-day operation of the College. Clare remains fully committed to Runshaw, our students and our staff throughout the year ahead, and the Corporation Board is confident in the College’s continued success and future direction.

The Board has now begun the process of recruiting Runshaw’s next Principal and CEO. This is an exciting opportunity to build on the College’s many strengths and continue delivering the exceptional education and opportunities for which Runshaw is known.

We will keep students, parents and carers updated as the process progresses and share further information at the appropriate stages.

Alison Watson-Bird
Chair of the Corporation Board
