What can we do about environmental crisis? Just one of the many philosophical questions asked at Lancaster University’s Interdisciplinary Sixth Form Study Day.
This week our A Level Religious Studies students attended an interdisciplinary Sixth Form Study Day at Lancaster’s unique Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion.
The day consisted of talks from Dr Leonie Smith and John Foster (Do You Have A Moral Duty To Fight Climate Change?), Dr Brian Black (Buddhism and the Environment), and Dr Celine Germond-Dure (Sustaining the Seas for a Habitable Planet).
The talks were interactive and were followed by discussions and group work to develop our students’ grasp of themes and issues, as well as a campus tour.
A Level Religious Studies is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to explore a range of questions such as whether religion is a human construct, does God exist and what are miracles, do they still happen? Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this subject typically progress onto a wide range of degree courses.
It’s a miracle – if studying religious beliefs and debating philosophical issues is for you, read our Bible of information below and apply today.
