The magic of play is a powerful tool for children’s learning and development. Play is an innate behaviour that comes naturally to children and is essential for their overall growth, cognitive development, social skills, and emotional well-being. Through play, children explore the world around them, make sense of their experiences, and acquire important skills and knowledge. In this session, learners will have the opportunity to engage in different types of play activities, to enable them to develop an understanding of how play supports children’s holistic development. They will also learn how to apply theories of child development to the role of the adult during play and learning activities to ensure that the children are effectively supported.
