First and second year students have now officially kick-started the new term in style by taking part in a range of activities at our annual Freshers’ Fair.
Activities have been taking place since the start of last week when we welcomed nearly 3,000 first year students to college. This week, to mark the start of our returning second year cohort, students and staff have taken part in Runshaw’s annual Freshers’ Fair, including the Total Wipeout inflatable challenge, alpacas and birds of prey on campus and information stands with Pure Gym, NHS Lancashire, Gymetc, Smokefree Lancashire, The Key, and many others.

The Freshers’ Fair created a real buzz on campus, welcoming students to the wide variety of opportunities and services available at Runshaw. The day combined fun activities with valuable information and support, helping students to feel part of the college community right from the start. Last week, we were thrilled to welcome our special guest and motivational speaker Action Jackson, who delivered motivational talks to our first year students.

Alongside this, our enrichment provision and Student Assistance Programme were showcased, with many students registering their interest in the diverse range of activities and support on offer. This week we were also delighted to officially open our new dining outlet – Spudshaw.

Thank you to all staff who supported the event — your contribution helped create a welcoming and inspiring start to the year.
