Students on our Supported Internship Programme have celebrated in style at our annual Graduation Event.
Our six talented interns gathered last night at Leyland’s Fox Lane Cricket Club to celebrate their achievements over the last academic year. They have been outstanding ambassadors during the programme, in partnership with Progress Housing Group and Runshaw College.
Our interns also picked up their bronze DofE certificates. During their DofE programme our interns demonstrated knowledge, skills and most importantly, working as a team. A big thank you to the Mayor of South Ribble Borough Council, Councillor Paul Wharton-Hardman, for attending and presenting our Intern of the Year Award – your support and encouragement mean the world to our interns and team.

The DFN Project SEARCH Supported Internship Programme is designed for young people aged 16-24 with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The goal of this programme is to support the transition from education to a position of paid employment (16+ hours per week) and lasts for one academic year.

We are immensely proud of each and every one of our interns. Their perseverance, growth, confidence and resilience throughout this journey have been nothing short of extraordinary. To our partnership, rotation mentors and staff, thank you for your continued support and dedication.

Back in February, our Supported Internship Programme was put under the spotlight as we welcomed two inspectors for a rigorous SIQAF (Supported Internship Quality Assurance Framework) review, commissioned by the Department for Education (DfE). We were absolutely thrilled to announce that our Supported Internship Programme achieved a score of 116 out of 117. This result places us among the highest-scoring programmes in the country.
