Teachers ensure that students undertake a range of interesting and exciting activities within lessons to underpin learning and develop understanding.

Are you interested in studying an introduction to Events, Tourism and Customer Service, whilst improving your GCSE grades in maths or English? If the answer to this question is yes, then we have the course for you. This programme will give you all the basic skills you need to progress onto Level 2 Tourism or into the world of work.

This is an exciting Level 2 course for Sport where students will be able to access a range of subjects linked to sports science, leadership, and coaching. As part of this one year course students could have the chance to work with local schools delivering sports activity sessions as well as accessing a week long work experience placement for the most gifted and talented.

For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.

Our Level 2 qualification is highly recognised by the tourism industry and is perfect to help you improve your academic writing and learn more about the different sectors of the tourism industry. Our students complete industry work placements to enhance and develop their skills and confidence, and to gain a greater insight into our sector. We work closely with tourism employers to ensure it reflects what is happening right now, in this diverse industry and have a variety of guest speakers and visits planned to help you gain a first-hand experience of the industry. This will boost your subject knowledge and enhance your assessment preparation.

This course is 100% internally assessed and includes a variety of assessment methods that are designed to enhance your academic skills, build confidence, and improve communication skills. We will assess you through written reports, presentations, role play, Vlogs, Blogs, and group work. Therefore, good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Once you have completed this course, you can progress on to the Level 3 Tourism Management programme, apprenticeships, or directly into employment.

Over a two year course you will have the opportunity to develop employability skills and knowledge in the areas of fitness programming, sports coaching and sports massage. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment in sport. If you enjoy sport, and are looking to enhance your future chances of employment or higher education in the sport sector, this is the course for you.

For our Level 3 Advanced Vocational courses our entry requirements are a minimum of 5x GCSEs at Grade 4, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 4 and Grade 3 in the other subjects.

Sport and Exercise Science at Runshaw College is an exciting and diverse sport course that opens up a number of university courses in areas such as sport and exercise science, physiotherapy, coaching, teaching and other related areas.

Passionate about travel, events and customer service? Our two-year Tourism Management course offers the perfect introduction to the exciting world of tourism and the visitor economy.

Combining a Level 3 NCFE Travel and Tourism qualification, industry work placement and bespoke cabin crew training, the course gives you real insight into sectors such as aviation, cruise, events, visitor attractions and hospitality. You’ll gain valuable practical experience alongside industry knowledge, helping you develop the skills employers are looking for. After completing the course, you can progress to university, an apprenticeship or directly into employment within this dynamic and growing industry.
